A Triple Hip Rafter Glass Roof in Salem, NH
When homeowners in Salem, New Hampshire envisioned a custom glass roof for their home, they turned to the collaborative expertise of THA Architects of Stratham, Mancusi Builders of Hampstead, and Sunspace Design to make it a reality. The result? Stunning glass construction that seamlessly blends modern craftsmanship with gorgeous, traditional aesthetics. This unique, bespoke glass roof design has a corner layout featuring three hip rafters and a valley rafter. The completed unit floods the interior with natural light while adding architectural interest to the home’s exterior.
Sunspace Design played a crucial role in this project, providing the roof layout details and design, drafting fully engineered CAD drawings, the glass roof manufacture itself, and on-site assembly. The glass roof is a testament to quality, boasting a steel sub-frame with solid mahogany rafters and trim, insulated Solarban 70 argon-gas filled panes for optimal energy efficiency, and an exterior outfitted in cold-rolled copper flashing and capping for a touch of timeless elegance. Let’s take a closer look at the journey this remarkable glass roof took from concept to completion.
