Custom Addition with Glass Roof in Watertown, MA

by | May 14, 2019 | Construction

We’re best known for our line of custom glass spaces, skylights, roof elements, and enclosures. But what you might not know is that Sunspace Design is fully equipped to handle conventional construction of any sort. Before we were a glass design company, we were general construction professionals offering services throughout New England. This wealth of experience allows us to marry conventional construction principles with our glass design-build expertise. Whether we’re building the entire project, providing specialty glass components, or providing design work only, we can offer unique solutions to virtually any construction or renovation goals you might have. These solutions can be tailored to your style, your functionality requirements, and to the existing aesthetic of your home or commercial space.

This build journal explores the design and construction of a brand new addition for a client in Watertown, Massachusetts. We’re always enthusiastic to pair up with fellow professionals in the industry, and we got a chance to do that with this project: Our House Design+Build out of Reading, Massachusetts served as general contractor while we provided the design. The unique four-season room is conventionally built and includes a mahogany framed glass roof with high-performance, insulated glass. The addition of the glass roof is going to maintain high natural light levels in the space. This stunning natural sunlight will be passed on to an adjacent room in the home’s interior via the entry connecting the addition. Let’s explore the process:
