A Custom Triangular Skylight in Chesterfield, NH
The Sunspace Design team is comfortable working in virtually any environment when completing glass structure projects. We’ve built massive glass roof installations, specialized automated greenhouses, elegant Victorian conservatories, and other custom projects in environments ranging from urban centers to rural farmland. But we’re always excited when our work takes us to spaces that are especially beautiful. This build journal explores one such project: the completion of a custom triangular skylight and glass folding wall system for a new lakeside addition at Spofford Lake in Chesterfield, New Hampshire.
The clients wanted an addition to their lake residence which would feature a dramatic skylight system and collapsible window walls. Imagine sunshine entering from a skylight above and a fresh lake breeze arriving through opened window walls and you’ll have a good idea of the project’s goal! Here’s a step-by-step walkthrough of the progress to date:

Each project begins as a series of professional CAD drawings.
A look at the rafter plan layout.

You can see the roof section where the custom triangular skylight will be installed.
The solid mahogany hip rafters have been cut and fit to the template.
We’re now ready for the remaining rafters to be cut and installed.
The custom triangular skylight frame has been delivered to the job site.
The frame is now being prepped for the crane operator.
The crane operator lifts the frame into position.
We’re almost ready to install the glass.
