An Aluminum-Framed Rooftop Skylight in Boston, MA

by | Aug 12, 2019 | Construction

We’re always eager to return to our proving grounds in Massachusetts. Our company began its journey in the state, and we have deep roots there. Previous build journals set in Boston include our construction of a gorgeous, black powder-coated aluminum greenhouse in Beacon Hill and a stunning rooftop skylight. Today we bring you another rooftop skylight. We have to admit: our construction crew enjoyed quite the view while building this one! Let’s take a look at the process:

The general contractor has provided solid end walls and a structural ridge beam.

The team applies sill flashing to the curb at the base of the skylight.

The rafters have been installed.

Insulated, high-performance glass is installed on the frame.

A view of the copper eave flashing.

Both end walls are now fully clad in copper.

A perspective of the completed skylight exterior.
