A Low Slope Custom Skylight in Boston, MA

by | Feb 10, 2021 | Construction

We’ve completed projects of all sizes and scopes: from rural residential conservatories to large glass roof installations in the middle of metropolitan areas. Today’s build journal is a look at the design and construction of a low slope custom skylight in the heart of Boston. Measuring 8 feet wide by 9 feet tall, the design called for the installation of solid mahogany rafters. We outfitted the skylight with Solarban 70 Low-e insulated glass and completed the project with our proprietary low slope copper flashing system.

A mahogany frame for the new skylight has been installed within the existing roof.

Copper flashing is installed around the exterior of the mahogany skylight frame.

Insulated high performance safety glass is installed.
We’re now ready to proceed with the installation of copper capping.

Our custom design-build process is structured to ensure that your every hope for your glass construction project is achieved.
